BLK (B lymphoid kinase)

BLK, also known as B lymphoid kinase, is a tyrosine kinase of 55kd, which has SH3, SH2, and catalytic domain, and contains the common sequence of src protein tyrosine kinase family. Tyrosine kinase encoded by BLK may play a role in a signal transduction pathway limited to B lymphocytes. Its normal expression is very important for the biological behaviors such as maturation, survival, differentiation, apoptosis, and migration of B cells. Its abnormal activation usually leads to the occurrence and development of B cell malignant tumors or autoimmune diseases. Diseases associated with BLK related diseases include Maturity-Onset Diabetes Of The Young, Type 11 and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
