CSNK1D (casein kinase 1 delta) also known as CKI-delta or CK1δ is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the gene CSNK1D, which is located on chromosome 17 (17q25.3). CSNK1D is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a key role in the Wnt/β-catenin signal transduction pathway. Because CK1δ is involved in important cellular signal transduction pathways, it is very important to strictly control the expression and kinase activity of CK1δ. In general, the basic expression level of CK1δ varies from tissue to tissue, cell type and physiological environment. This pathway is important in both development and cancer. Diseases associated with CSNK1D include late sleep stage syndrome, familial 2 and late sleep stage syndrome.
