Estrogen receptor 2(ESR2) is a protein coding gene. The gene encodes members of the estrogen receptor family and the nuclear receptor transcription factor superfamily. The gene product contains an N-terminal DNA-binding domain and a C-terminal ligand binding domain, and is located in the nucleus, cytoplasm and mitochondria. Diseases associated with ESR2 include ovarian hypoplasia, thyroid cancer, and Asgerber syndrome. Its related pathways include checkpoint regulation and Chks in gene expression.
