MOG (Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein) is a minimal myelin protein found in the outermost layer of the myelin sheath of the central nervous system (CNS). It is a subtype of immunoglobulin IgG1, which effectively regulates complement-dependent cytotoxicity and is the key component leading to demyelination in MS. Anti-MOG antibodies play a very important role in the pathological process of multiple sclerosis (MS). Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) induced by MOG is an internationally recognized animal model of MS. Diseases associated with MOG include Narcolepsy and Rubella. Among its related pathways are Neural Stem Cells and Lineage-specific Markers.
