NTRK1 (neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 1) encodes the high affinity nerve growth factor receptor protein. The kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway after binding to neurotrophins. The presence of this kinase leads to cell differentiation and may play a role in the designation of sensory neuron subtypes. NRTK gene fusion has a high frequency in some rare tumors (such as secretory breast cancer, breast-like secretory carcinoma (MASC), infantile fibrosarcoma), while in common tumors such as lung cancer, the frequency of breast cancer is extremely low.
