Eukaryotic initiation factor 4e (EIF4E) is a conserved peptide with a relative molecular weight of 25×103, located in 4q21~4q25, distributed in the cytoplasm of all eukaryotic cells in the form of free or complex, and some of the proteins are located in the nucleus. EIF4E is a member of translation initiation complex, which contains the least among many translation initiation factors, and is a necessary rate-limiting factor in the translation process of eukaryotic protein synthesis. Phosphorylation can regulate the activity of eIF4E. EIF4E is highly expressed in a variety of solid tumors, which is closely related to the occurrence, invasion and metastasis of malignant tumors.
