PIM1 (Pim-1 Proto-Oncogene, Serine/Threonine Kinase) is a Protein Coding gene. Pim-1 is mainly involved in cell cycle progression, apoptosis and transcriptional activation, as well as more general signal transduction pathways. The role of Pim-1 in carcinogenic signals has made it a widely studied target in cancer research, and many candidate drugs under study have taken it as a target. In tumorigenesis and development, the important signal pathways Jak-STAT and NF-?B up-regulate the expression of PIM1 by promoting the transcription of PIM1 gene. On the other hand, the high expression of PIM1 protein can inhibit the continuous activation of these two signal pathways by negative feedback.
