Tetrazine-mPEG is a nano-PEGylated tetrazine derivative that reacts with TCO (trans-cyclooctene) or norbornene (Nor) groups. The reaction between tetrazine and TCO/Nor is a copper-free click reaction that enables two molecules to be joined rapidly and efficiently in aqueous solution through their respective reactive groups. PEG-tetrazine derivatives exhibit excellent water solubility, fast kinetics, and high stability in aqueous buffers, making them among the best PEGylation reagents for the copper-free click modification of proteins, peptides, antibodies, biopolymers, and nanoparticles.
